Detroit, MI
Shout out to Juliane and Andre! We drove to Detroit (the suburbs of) for their wedding weekend and had a blast!
Jeff and I rap battled our way down 8 mile and finished our musical tour with Hitsville, USA.
Canadians are funny
In Toronto, we saw more than a few uniquely Canadian inventions and 'art'. Here is their version of a pedi-cab. Seems ok for summer but not so great in the snow.
This is their version of a street cleaning car. It's just a big vacuum on wheels.
Here is a picture of a good Italian place we went for dinner. There is no sign or name posted- just a really big sculpture of a nose. The actual name of the place was Gina's Really Really Nice Restaurant.
And doesn't that backbust of a man hanging on the wall seem a little too realistic? It was hanging in a bar staircase. It freaked us out.

Toronto, CAN
We headed to Toronto, CAN for some more sightseeing. Is Toronto the #3 "real city" in North America? Maybe #4 if you consider Mexico City? We haven't been to Montreal (and have heard good things), so maybe #5?
It's well over 1 million people (check). That eliminates the SF's, Seattle's, Boston's, etc.
You don't need a car (check). That eliminates the LA's, the Texas cities, etc.
Really, those two criteria eliminate all but a few cities and it's just better/cooler than most of the rest. Even with the crappy weather.
Let the arguments begin.

Oh Canada! Niagara Falls
Our first stop in Canada- Niagara Falls. It was Jeff's first time and we completed the Adventure Pass tour- which included 4 different views of the falls with four different plastic ponchos.

Buffalo- for Wings
Thanks to loyal reader and native of upstate NY, John C. for his recommendation. Duffs was our second road food stop in one day. Even though we were full of Doug's Fish Fry, we could not pass up a chance to go to the home of the buffalo wing. Those wings were delicious- medium hot for the right combo of heat and tang.
